Persisting, and in some cases widening, ethnic and socioeconomic disparities have been extensively documented throughout the world, especially affecting maternal and child health. Nowhere is this more apparent than among indigenous populations, which consistently face worse health conditions and reduced life opportunity than their non-indigenous counterparts.
