You will also have the opportunity, if you wish and in full reciprocity, to share about your own life and experiences.

Reclaiming the gift economy

Wednesday November 22 - dia Q’anil - 12Pm PST / 3pm EST

all genders welcome - English/Spanish simultaneous translation available

In a world that operates through extraction, accumulation, and separation, creating new possibilities does not just mean re-distributing wealth or "fighting power." It means reclaiming the genuine values of generosity, togetherness, compassion, and collaboration. It involves reciprocity, putting others first, collaboration, cooperation, fairness, empathy, interdependence, and standing in solidarity with all of life. How may we place life in the center again?

In this live Women's Circle, on day Q'anil [Seed] of the Mayan calendar and a few days before Giving Tuesday (Nov 28), we will be joined by Maya women from Guatemala to together delve into the significance of "giving" and reflect on our soul purpose - what we are here to gift in this lifetime, to contribute to the wellbeing and thriving of ourselves, others, and of all of life.

“Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” - H. Thurman

Weaving a tapestry of resistance & renewal: learning Mayan artistry

Wednesday Dec 20 - dia Ajmaq [reconciliation] - 12Pm PST / 3pm EST

all genders welcome - English/Spanish simultaneous translation available

For centuries, Maya women’s weaving has been a form of resistance. Colonizers of the land that is now Guatemala burned Maya books and destroyed cultural artefacts. Using a hidden language of symbols and colors, Maya women documented and preserved stories and culture in their textiles. Weavers are essential for the survival of Maya culture.

In this special Winter Solstice Women's Circle , Mayan women will teach us the art of weaving. As we each create a small woven piece, we will speak into our dreams and intentions for the New Year. You can even send in your piece to be included into a collective tapestry symbolizing our collective dream for the world we wish to leave behind for all generations to come and for all of life.

Despite the borders,

despite all that divides us and keeps us separate,

let us gift each other our presence

listen deeply

disentangle, re-member, re-define, re-weave

what it means to sit side-by-side and heart-to-heart as women of this earth and of this time

able to gift all that we are

for the good of all

Cultivating Beauty :

Bridging Divides and Celebrating Unity

Despite the geographical borders that separate us and the numerous divisions that seem to keep us apart, let us seize the opportunity to exchange the invaluable gift of presence.

In a world where connections are often hindered, we must listen deeply to one another, breaking down the barriers that divide us.

Together, let us disentangle the threads of our shared experiences, re-membering our collective strength, redefining our notions of unity, and re-weaving the tapestry of sisterhood that spans across all corners of this earth and this moment in time.

As women of diverse backgrounds and cultures, we possess an innate ability to give all that we are for the betterment of all. Our inherent beauty lies in the depth of our compassion, wisdom, and resilience. Amidst the challenges we face today, may we embrace the transformative power of our shared experiences, using them as bridges to connect and empower one another.

Let us remember that our differences are not barriers, but rather invitations for growth and understanding. Instead of allowing them to sow division, let us engage with curiosity and open hearts, eager to learn from one another.

Within this sacred space, we can learn to honor and celebrate the beauty that exists within our unique stories, perspectives, and heritages.

Together, we have the power to redefine what it means to sit side-by-side as women in this world. Embracing our collective strength, let us work towards creating a harmonious coexistence, founded upon mutual respect and fertile ground for collaboration.

By acknowledging the shared humanity that unites us, we can unlock the potential to create a future where all women, regardless of their backgrounds, can thrive and contribute fully to the tapestry of life.

n gifting each other our presence and acknowledging the beauty within ourselves and one another, we embark on a journey towards collective healing. Our collaboration becomes a catalyst for positive change, paving the way for a more inclusive and compassionate world.

Therefore, let us gather our hearts and minds, recognizing that our unity in diversity can manifest a profound beauty that transcends borders and divisions. By cultivating a deeper understanding and connection, we can embark on a shared mission to uplift, empower, and celebrate the essence of womanhood. Together, we can become beacons of light that shine brightly, illuminating a path towards a future where all women are valued, cherished, and able to gift all that they are for the good of all.

In solidarity and sisterhood, let us create a world where the beauty of our collective presence sets us free.
